CONWAY, Ark.(AP) Quarterback Nathan Brown threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns to lead Central Arkansas to a 24-21 victory Saturday night over UC Davis.

Brown, a senior from Russellville, connected with Brent Grimes in the second quarter and Darrius McNeal in the third to take a 14-0 lead. Eddie Carmona chipped in a 26-yard field goal to make it 17-0 in the third quarter. Central Arkansas junior Brent Grimes made a touchdown for the Bears off an 8-yard carry in the fourth quarter to seal the game.

UC Davis quarterback Greg Denham threw back-to-back touchdown passes to wide receiver Chris Carter in the third quarter. UC Davis' Brad Bispo scored another touchdown off a 6-yard pass from Denham in the fourth quarter.

Brown completed 26 of his 38 passes for Central Arkansas (2-0). Denham completed 30 of 45 passes for 296 yards, with one interception.

The Bears defense demolished the Aggie's ground game, which only made 11 yards off of 20 attempts. Central Arkansas rushed for 125 yards off of 34 attempts.

Central Arkansas next plays Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Little Rock on Sept. 13. UC Davis (0-2) will face Portland State at home the same day.
