ARKADELPHIA, Ark.(AP) Quarterback Roch Charpentier threw for 352 yards and two touchdowns to help Henderson State blank Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a 34-0 victory Saturday night.

Charpentier's throws, coupled with Bernard Palmer's two touchdown runs, provided much of the offensive power for Henderson State (1-1).

Palmer, a senior running back, scored the game's first touchdown off a 2-yard run in the first quarter. Sean Stennis caught a 19-yard pass for a touchdown in the second quarter, followed by Palmer's second touchdown in the third. Overall, Palmer contributed 53 of his team's 116 total yards rushing off of 34 attempts.

Garett Manning caught a deep 62-yard pass late in the third quarter to put the Reddies ahead by 20. Michael Buse sealed the game after returning a blocked punt 10 yards for the final touchdown.

Despite picking off Charpentier twice, the Lions had little luck on the field. The Reddies defense held Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-2) to only 27 yards off of 36 carries. Lions quarterback Gvona Turner completed 16 of his 35 passes for 190 yards, but was sacked nine times.

Henderson State will play North Alabama on the road Sept. 13. Arkansas-Pine Bluff next plays Central Arkansas in Little Rock the same day.
