Doolittle, Hall lead Gardner-Webb to victory

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.(AP) Stan Doolittle threw two touchdown passes and Patrick Hall scored twice on the ground to lead Gardner-Webb to a 31-15 win over Austin Peay on Saturday night.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (2-1) totaled 343 yards on offense, including 191 yards on the ground. The Governors (0-3) had only 98 yards on the ground.
Doolittle, who completed 11 of 20 passes, threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns. He connected with Tre Perry for an 18-yard score to give Gardner-Webb a 24-9 lead with 3:28 left in the third quarter.
Doolittle's first touchdown throw was a 53-yard pass to Dobson Collins in the first quarter.
Austin Peay quarterback Gary Orr, who threw for 191 yards and four interceptions, tossed a 29-yard touchdown to Adrian Mines to cut the Gardner-Webb lead to 24-15.
John Bell made field goals from 42, 51 and 45 yards away for the Governors.
