JACKSON, Miss. (AP) Bryant Lee passed for 266 yards and two touchdowns to lead Southern to its third straight win with a 35-28 victory over Jackson State on Saturday night.

Southern (3-2, 2-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) ended a two-game losing streak to Jackson State.

The Jaguars trailed 7-3 midway through the second quarter before Lee connected with Juamorris Stewart on a 37-yard touchdown pass for a 10-7 lead with 8:30 left in the first half.

Four minutes later, Lee again found Stewart for a 33-yard touchdown pass to give Southern a 16-7 lead with 4:04 remaining. Stewart finished with 179 yards on eight catches.

Southern, which had 415 yards of offense, got fourth quarter touchdown runs of 2 yards from Kendrick Smith and 26 yards from Silas Gibbs to stretch its lead to 35-20 with two minutes left in the game.

Jackson State (1-4, 0-1), which lost its third straight game, got two touchdowns passes from Trae Rutland, but committed 10 penalties and had three turnovers.
