Wofford easily handles Western Carolina

SPARTANBURG, S.C.(AP) Mike Rucker ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns and Ben Widmyer had two passing scores to lead Wofford to a 42-14 win over Western Carolina on Saturday.
Widmyer, who completed all of his seven pass attempts, threw for 129 yards for the Terriers (5-1, 3-0 Southern Conference).
The Catamounts (2-6, 0-4) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Marquel Pittman caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Zack Jaynes, who finished with 126 yards passing.
But Rucker scored on a 2-yard run and Andy Strickland ran for a 74-yard touchdown to put Wofford ahead 14-7 in the second quarter. Strickland caught a 24-yard scoring passing from Widmyer.
Dane Romero, who rushed for 66 yards on 11 carries, scored on a 3-yard run in second quarter to give the Terriers a 28-7. In the third, Rucker followed with a 4-yard rushing score and Widmyer connected with Jeremy Marshall on a 23-yard touchdown pass.
Andy Horn completed 11 of 18 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown. Quan Warley ran for 91 yards on 18 attempts, while Marquel Pittman had 84 yards receiving on nine catches.
