HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.(AP) Josh Vaughan rushed for a career-best 240 yards and two touchdowns to lead Richmond to a 34-14 win over Hofstra on Saturday.

Quarterback Eric Ward scored twice on 1-yard runs in the first quarter for the Spiders (7-3, 4-2 Colonial League). Richmond added two field goals and Vaughan scored on a 3-yard run for a 27-0 halftime lead.

Ward completed 11 of 20 passes for 158 yards, and Vaughan added a 1-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Hofstra (3-7, 1-5), losers of four straight, scored on Steve Probst's 11-yard pass to Christian Dennis in the third. Aaron Weaver added a 1-yard TD run and finished with 132 yards on nine receptions.
