THIBODAUX, La.(AP) Chris Bunch and Trey Hopson scored two touchdowns each to lead Nicholls State to a 35-28 win against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday.
Hopson scored on an 18-yard scamper in the first and a 35-yard run in the third, and Bunch threw a 12-yard TD pass to Patrick Gordon in the second quarter and ran it in from 3 yards out to give Nicholls State a 35-7 lead to start the fourth.
Southeastern Louisiana (5-7, 2-5 Southland Football League) scored three touchdowns in six minutes to get back in the game, but Nicholls State (3-6, 3-4) held on despite five turnovers.
The Colonels' Corey Buchanan scored once and rushed for a game-high 106 yards, and Hopson finished with 90 yards rushing.
Bunch was 6-for-7 for 97 yards and one touchdown.
Brian Babin threw for 253 yards with one touchdown and one interception for the Lions.
