Iowa City, IA (Sports Network) - Adam Robinson ran for 101 yards and scored twice to lead the Iowa Hawkeyes to a 27-17 victory over the Arizona Wildcats in a non-conference battle at Kinnick Stadium.
Ricky Stanzi completed 20-of-32 pass attempts for 205 yards in the Iowa (3-0) victory, but the Hawkeyes signal-caller did not throw a touchdown pass and did have an interception.
Nic Grigsby ran for 75 yards on 11 attempts to lead the Wildcats (2-1) in the losing effort, while Nick Foles threw for just 55 yards and a touchdown.
Robinson gave the Hawkeyes a 7-0 lead with a two-yard plunge early in the opening period of play.
The Wildcats responded midway through the period with a 38-yard interception return for a score by Trevin Wade.
A 20-yard kick from Alex Zendejas early in the second quarter gave Arizona a 10-7 advantage.
But the Hawkeyes reclaimed the lead minutes later following a one-yard run by Robinson and took a 14-10 lead into halftime.
The Hawkeyes added a 20-yard field goal from Daniel Murray late in the third period of play, and another from 40 yards out early in the final quarter to extend their advantage to 20-10.
A two-yard Brandon Wegher plunge late in the final frame gave the Hawkeyes a 27-10 lead.
The Wildcats added a 10-yard scoring strike from Foles to Juron Criner with under two minutes to go.
