Recap: Tulane vs. Marshall

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Darius Marshall ran for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns, as the Marshall Thundering Herd defeated Tulane, 31-10, to spoil the Green Wave's homecoming at the Louisiana Superdome.

Brian Anderson threw for 207 yards and a touchdown 18-of-22 tosses for the Herd (4-2, 2-1 CUSA), while Chuck Walker pulled in four balls for 37 yards and a score.

Tulane (2-3, 0-2) rolled up 189 yards on the ground in the loss, with Andre Anderson's 92 yards on 18 carries leading the way. Joe Kemp and Ryan Griffin both saw time under center, but neither had much success, combining for 215 yards and two interceptions on 23-of-40 tosses.

Tulane opened the scoring four minutes into the first quarter when Jordan Sullen went 32 yards on a reverse for a touchdown.

Marshall took control of the game by scoring three times in a nine-minute span. Darius Marshall scored on an 11-yard run midway through the first period to give the Thundering Herd a 7-3 lead.

Less than a minute later, Tulane's Jeremy Williams fumbled and Marshall's Ashton Hall took the recovery 29 yards to the end zone. Marshall extended its lead to 21-7 when Anderson found Walker with a 24-yard touchdown pass.

Craig Ratanamorn added a 32-yard field goal for the Thundering Herd early in the third quarter.

Darius Marshall extended the Thundering Herd's lead to 31-7 with a five-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

Midway through the final period Ross Thevenot hit a 33-yard field goal for Tulane, but it would get no closer in the 31-10 setback.

The Green Wave outgained Marshall, 404-323, but committed three more turnovers than the Herd.
