Ames, IA (Sports Network) - The Iowa State Cyclones snapped a two-game losing streak with a 24-10 Big 12 Conference win over the Baylor Bears at Jack Trice Stadium.
Austen Arnaud was 18-of-28 for 166 yards and one touchdown and Alexander Robinson ran for 83 yards as the Cyclones (4-3, 1-2 Big 12) won for the first time in conference play in front of a hometown crowd.
Marquis Hamilton caught nine balls for the Cyclones for 97 yards.
Blake Szymanski was 23-of-38 through the air for Baylor (3-3, 0-2), which has now lost two straight.
Baylor started the scoring when Ben Parks booted a 38-yard field goal late in the first quarter.
Iowa State took a 7-3 lead when Arnaud scored from a yard out just over a minute into the second quarter. He hooked up with Derrick Catlett on a four- yard scoring pass four minutes later to extend the Cyclones' lead to 14-3.
Iowa State built its lead to 17-3 early in the third quarter on a Grant Mahoney 45-yard field goal. Jerome Tiller ran 20 yards for a score halfway through the period to make it a 24-3 game.
Justin Akers got Baylor into the end zone with only seconds remaining in the game when he caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from Jerod Monk.
Iowa State piled up 253 rushing yards and limited the Bears to just 89 yards on the ground.
