BOISE, Idaho(AP) Maryland running back Da'Rel Scott was among four starters benched at the start of the Humanitarian Bowl against Nevada on Tuesday for violating curfew.

Scott didn't enter until midway through the third quarter, but garnered MVP honors after running for 174 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns in Maryland's 42-35 win. Fellow offensive starter Danny Oquendo also did not play until the second half.

Starting linebacker Moise Fokou and backup defensive back Jamari McCollough didn't play until the second quarter. Reserve linebacker Derek Drummond also played but didn't record any stats. Linebackers Trey Covington and Antwine Perez were not listed on the game participation chart.

"I was hurt. I think there are certain things that I expect my players to do and I think when they violate that trust it disappoints me because I hold them in such high regard," Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen said. "I really don't want to be a Gestapo agency but I think sometimes you're almost forced to do it if people don't respect the rules that you have in place."
