Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Freshman Matt Barkley, back under center for the Trojans, threw two touchdown passes, as 12th-ranked USC rebounded from a stunning, last-second loss at Washington with a 27-6 win over Washington State.

Barkley was held out of last week's 16-13 setback to the Huskies with a bruised shoulder suffered September 12 against Ohio State. Aaron Corp got the start at quarterback and struggled as USC fell to Washington on Erik Folk's game-winning field goal. The loss sent the Trojans tumbling nine places down the national rankings.

On Saturday, Barkley completed 13-of-22 passes for 247 yards for the Trojans (3-1, 1-1 Pac-10), who overwhelmed WSU in the first quarter, building a 20- point cushion.

Damian Williams led all receivers with 100 yards and a score on five catches, while Joe McKnight added a rushing TD for USC.

Jeff Tuel connected on 14-of-22 pass attempts for 130 yards and one interception for the Cougars (1-3, 0-2).

USC's first drive of the game resulted in a three-yard scoring run by McKnight. The Trojans missed the extra point.

Later in the opening frame, Barkley hooked up with Brice Butler and Williams for a touchdowns passes of 29 and 57 yards, respectively.

WSU had success moving the ball at times throughout the game, but couldn't dent the scoreboard.

A six-yard TD run by Stafon Johnson made it 27-0 at the start of the fourth quarter. Dwight Tardy's two-yard TD run spoiled USC's shutout bid in the final minute of the game.
