BATON ROUGE, La.(AP) LSU forward Anthony Randolph, who announced last week that he was leaving LSU for the NBA draft, signed an agent on Tuesday, officially ending his college career.

Randolph, the Tigers' leading rebounder and shot blocker and the second-leading scorer last season, said he agreed be represented by the company headed by sports agent Arn Tellem. Former NBA star B.J. Armstrong will represent Randolph.

Under NCAA rules hiring an agent causes any remaining eligibility to be forfeited.

"I signed because once we got the report back from the NBA, it didn't make any sense not to go ahead and move in that direction," the 6-foot-10, 205-pound Randolph told The Advocate. "Once I saw where I was going to be drafted, I knew this is what I wanted to do."

The report was done by the NBA undergraduate advisory committee, comprised of general managers from all 32 NBA teams and chaired by former coach Stu Jackson.

"What it told me is that I'll be a lottery pick in the draft, and hearing it from the horse's mouth like that made me realize it wasn't just hearsay," Randolph said. "It really made me realize how special this opportunity is."
