CHAPEL HILL, N.C.(AP) Third-ranked North Carolina appears likely to have freshman 7-footer Tyler Zeller back Wednesday against North Carolina State.
Zeller broke his left wrist late in the win against Kentucky on Nov. 18 and was expected to miss the rest of the season, but he recently returned to practice on a limited basis.
Coach Roy Williams said Tuesday that Zeller wants to help contend for a national championship.
Zeller's return would bolster North Carolina's depth, which has taken a hit after losing Marcus Ginyard to injury and reserve Will Graves to suspension. Zeller started the first two games while national player of the year Tyler Hansbrough sat out with an injury.
