EL PASO, Texas(AP) Stefon Jackson scored 17 points and had seven rebounds to lead UTEP to a 78-57 win over Texas Southern on Sunday night.

Also scoring in the double-digits for UTEP (3-1) were Gabriel McCulley with 12 and Tavaris Watts, Marvin Kilgore and Jeremy Sampson with 10 each.

UTEP led 40-33 at the half and shot 53 percent from the field compared to Texas Southern's 42 percent.

Two players scored in the double-digits for Texas Southern (1-2): Sollie Norwood with 21 and Jacques Jones with 15. Norwood also had five rebounds while Jones had six.
